The Probus movement operates worldwide and was formed in the UK in 1965. Probus Clubs were formed for retired or semi-retired business or professional people hence the name PROBUS an acronym for PRO(fessional) and BUS(iness). We welcome members from all walks of working life. 

Each Probus Club is autonomous and sets its own rules without the constraints of a central organisation.

Hythe Ladies’ Probus Club was founded in 2004.
